If you are a guest in my hotel and you are going to simply leave my bar at 4AM and go back up to your room, as far as I am concerned you can drink until you fall off the chair. People come to LVN to be FREE to engage in things that they enjoy and we don't need any law man tellin nobody that they drank enough whiskey or played enough poker for the night.

Alcohol is a problem everywhere. Face it, it's a powerful drug. More powerful than many illegal drugs in fact. Drinking and driving is in no way exclusive to here although I would suspect there may be slightly higher incidences of it here. I regard idiots on cell phones as being twice as dangerous to be honest and really old people in giant Cadillac's as the most dangerous. Now just imagine a drunk old lady that just lost her Social Security check at the casino driving to the SS office at 3am cause she is drunk and trying to call them at the same time on the very first cell phone she has ever used.

Default Not Always Drunk

Most of the time the people are not even drunk (durning the day),they just have no or poor driving skills,or just don't care about anyone else on the road.I guess growing up on the west coast and not having to learn how to deal with icey or snow covered roads, dense fog,or hail doesn't allow most people to become better drivers. You become better at controlling a vehicle under any condition once you have driven in poor weather.Of course that won't help the people who just don't care or are too busy texting to stop at a red light. We also have a town(world) full of personal injury lawyers that enjoy seeing people get hurt and only see dollar signs.I wonder if they were to ever lose a loved one,if they would still get on this thread and say "its no big deal"

How would you know that? Because they're drunk and told you so. Great!

About a week ago I read a report online about Las Vegas. It stated that Las Vegas is 144 out of 200 for most accidents. The 200 cities in the report were major cities, with 1 being the best and 200 being the worst. So yes you should be worried about your safety while diving around in Las Vegas. The I-15 has the most accidents with the most fatalities. We can all assume it's because of all the tourist driving on the 15, it's the only freeway they know of when they are here. If you have ever had to work early in the morning, say around 3 or 4, and you are driving to work 1 out of 2 drivers on the road is under the influence. It's not hard to miss when they swerve into your lane.

The number one cause of accidents in Las Vegas is failure to yield!!! I personally do not understand what is so hard about it. Drivers do not pay attention the the signs. They drive with their heads up their ass thinking they know how to drive. THINKING they have the right away. When you merge onto the freeway go faster then 40!!! People believe that driving fast is dangerous. SO IS DRIVING TOO "F"ING SLOW. It's dangerous when you are trying to merge into traffic going 65 when you are going 40.

Drivers in Vegas also don't understand that the fast lane on the freeway is for PASSING ONLY. So if you are going 60 in the fast lane get over. If drivers to your right are going faster then you, then you are in the wrong lane. It is just rude!

People here do not know the driving laws, can't read the signs, are drunk, or on their phone. Driving is not hard. Be courteous, drive the speed limit, and pay attention to what you are doing.

My advice to anyone who is worried about getting in an accident is to stay away from the idiots around you. Always check your mirrors. If someone is driving like an ass then for your own sake get out of their way and let them go. If you see someone drunk report them. Just keep your distance and watch our for the ass holes.

I fear of losing a loved one to a car crash. It would be horrible. But is doesn't have to happen. So please think twice before you get behind the wheel of a car. Ask your self if you should be driving. Open your eyes and read the signs. Pay attention to your surrounding. I am not saying I'm the best driver but I try to be careful and I care about the people driving next to me.

Report is hopelessly flawed. Deals with the time between accidents...not the miles between accidents. That says any place where nobody drives does well and heavy drive cities do badly. Basically that tends to discrminate against the sprawling cities of the west.

So forget about it. Has no real information.

Years ago, when I was just a visitor, I did get cut off at the MGM and I was staying there. I was actually pretty shocked myself, thinking that it would just not happen in Vegas. Then again, there are so many bars if you want to continue, you should have no problem getting another drink. I went to bed and had the WORST hangover the next day. Never did that again. Just had to acclimate my mind to the fact that there was no 2 am cut off and I didn't have to hurry.

I drive at all hours. I've seen pedestrians crossing the I-15 in the resort corridor, wrong way vehicles, people driving while shooting bright green lasers at my rear and side view mirrors. Drunks, racers, motorcycles with a death wish and worse.

You can only be so defensive as a driver. No report on how bad Vegas drivers are will ever do it justice. Data doesn't always have to correlate to personal experience. Based on anecdotal as well as hard evidence, Vegas is a pretty dangerous place to drive.

Haha, having lasers shined in your mirrors is just the reason some guy who's 2 inches from a mental breakdown with a magnum in the passenger seat has been waiting for to use that bad boy. I remember back east, a guy got cut off in traffic and got out at the next stop light and punched through the passenger window and then proceeded to choke the living daylights out of the guy.

From my experience, the 15 is at least 4x more dangerous than the 95 in the areas around the strip. Honestly every time I get on there it's a free for all with accidents piled up on the side.
