I recently read in the Las Vegas Weekly that Michael Jackson's moved to Pahrump. I guess that his deal with Station Casinos fell through. He was supposed to have a Neverland Ranch themed called Molest Station.

are you sure about only 3.9 million? i though he was worth a 3/4 billion?

I'm sure that was a typo for 3.9 billion.

There is definitely a very wealthy upper class in Las Vegas, and they seem to like throwing charity benefit balls and getting pictures of themselves put in all of the magazines. They live in mega-estates out along the fringes of the Valley - quite a few of them also have units at high-rise condo complexes near the Strip, where they stay on nights they have functions to attend. But many of them made their money elsewhere, and moved to Las Vegas to avoid the high taxes in California and New York.

Although we may not have the blue bloods with old money dating back to the 1700's and the old country, there is definitely an upper class out here. As is everything else in Vegas, they each have their own Vegas flavor. Of course I'm not speaking from experience here, but my assumption is that East Coast old money will always have a different attitude and outlook then West Coast self made money.

What can you or others tell about these two families? What generation (in Las Vegas) is the current family? Who founded their family fortune and what in? I assume gambling.

There may not be a lot of big names in Vegas, but there's definitely an upper-class. Just check out neighborhoods such as Tournament Hills, The Ridges, etc. Lots of homes for over 10 million dollars.
I'm defining upper class as generational wealth.
