Ok, so this was supposed to be easy for a Nevada Seasonal Resident ID... i called when i was in Cleveland and was told i needed... ohio drivers license, birth certificate, and social security card.

I went to the location on Elkhorn...... Ohio Drivers License.. ok Birth Certificate, no good.. Mine is a certified copy with a Ohio notorial seal on it.. needs a gov't seal... Social Security card - no good.. mine is laminated... just got it before i came here, it was on very thin paper so i had it laminated..

I think this is BS... I had proof of my residency also...

Only one thing worse than the DMV, the post office on Jones and 215.

Yep, the more we pay for stamps, the more it seems we need to stand in line. I went the other day to buy stamps and was using a company check, and had to wait about 40 minutes in line.

Do you know that most Postal workers get about 6 weeks vacation. Do most of us in our regular jobs get that much vacation, while getting paid for it?

Yep, the get good benefits, and get paid pretty well, they don't care about you. But damn, do they need to move so slow, when you have 50 people in line!

It's not BS, it's their rules. When I transferred my license from California three years ago, I was told that I had to present an official birth certificate. As for your Social Security card, if memory serves, it clearly states, "Do Not Laminate."

If you get your papers in order, you'll find that they'll hand you your permanent drivers license roughly ten minutes after they take your picture.
Also, if you don't plan on getting a vanity plate, you'll get your choice of three plates they have in their desk at the time. If they have it available, go for one with a triple digit (mine is 999***) on it. I was told that they're a little more rare. Yes, you'll have to get your car smogged every year. As long as it passes, you'll never have to pay more than $25 for the test, and there are always discount coupons in the paper.

Welcome to Centennial Hills. I rarely go the post office since I buy stamps at the grocery store. If they said Thursday, they meant Thursday. It's like the laws of physics, it's not going to change. Yes, the lines can be long. It all depends on the time of day, and which day of the week it is. The lines are always going to long on the day before a national holiday. Up until about a year ago, you'd take a number instead of standing in line. Was she rude? I don't think so. At least she didn't call into question your parentage, and suggest some physically improbable acts that you might perform with your newly received mail box key.

The moral of this story? Life's too short to get upset over governmental regulations, and long lines at the post office. You'll get an ulcer.

So what happens if everyone has their SS card laminated? It will fall apart if it isn't. I can't even find my birth certificate..which is really helpful since I also need to get to the DMV for something. I just hope this time they don't make me look like a criminal again for my picture.

I've had the same ss card for 31 years (since birth) kept it in my wallet from the age of 18, only got a new one because I got married and changed my name. It never fell apart.

Why, you little devil, you!

I keep my Social Security card behind my drivers license, and I've never had any problems with it. I rarely take it out, since I know my SSN. Contact the County Recorder for an official copy of your birth certificate. Don't go with one of those services that you see online that promise to get your birth certificate quickly. All the they do is expedite the mailing time. They don't do any of the actual work. If you're lucky, yours will be with your birth county. Mine was sealed by the State of California, since my mother's second husband adopted my sister and I, so that we'd have his surname. If he hadn't, my last name would be Weyhe (pronounced why-he).

You, look like criminal?! Never!!! I wish that I could Photoshop my cheeks are too red, and it makes me look drunk. Besides my picture can cause blindness, or at the very least, temporary insanity.
