Last time we had an inspector, but he only did visual inspection for roof, electricity, plumb, structure..... And all the inspection are based on visual. For foundation problem, he cannot make sure.

This time we want to hire a real structural foundation inspector (engineer) which can measure and make sure the structure/foundation has no problem.

Thanks.

Structural problems on slab construction is very rare...almost non-existent. I have never seen one though there have been some in particular locations. Those however involved expansive soils which occur after the fact.

If the slab is still intact in 5 years it is very improbable there is a problem.

The standard outfit for such an inspection is...

Las Vegas Home Inspection | Nevada | Structural | Licensed Engineer | NV

They will do anything you would like them to do. Somewhat more expensive than a regular inspection. I use them when the inspection has something I don't like...ie a retaining wall that has moved. I would use them if I suspected a problem with the foundation...but I have never had that occur.

Thanks. I called them. The structural inspection is $600, and home inspection is $500. They are more expensive than others. Are they very good?

The are more qualified. These guys are all professional engineers...Generally mechanical or civil engineers licensed by the state.

As I said I use them for areas of concern as they are expensive. But worth it if you are concerned about something.
