Hello all:

Need advice for quiet apartment in Henderson that is reasonable. Close to University of Southern Nevada. Need apartment for one year lease starting on August 15, 2008. Has to be gated, secure and quiet.

Thanks,
natcire

To all: okay, it does not have to be an apartment. Can be a condo. I just read a bunch of apartment reviews and am afraid of what I will find there.

Try some of the Picerne properties. Picerne Real Estate Group - Property Management
There is a brand new very nice apt complex over in the area where you are looking. Plus they have a couple more apt complexes in the Henderson area as well as other parts of the valley.
I keep hearing good things about them.

As for aptratings.com, not all the negative comments you read about apts are really truthful. I think people with lots of time on their hands will just go and put down most apts without even having lived there. Or they are into high drama in their minds, so what they put down on the complaints is overblown a hundred times over.

You have to consider those ratings carefully. And look at the dates and how many there are. Think about it, most properties have 100s of units and you are reading maybe 5 comments? Not a very good consensus. I would take it with a grain of salt.

My husband is staying at the Equestrian on Eastern and he really likes it. Close to shopping and the strip, where he works. It did not look great on the ratings, but it did look nice when we visited. It is gated but truly I don't know how good that is anyway. Unless you have a guard at the gates. DM me if you need to know more. (It is a Picerne Property).

Good luck.

Me and my boyfriend are moving to the Equestrian on Eastern in 3 weeks also and it was really nice when I visited. I LOVED the area and felt very clean and safe. Glad to know your husband likes it there :-)

Quiet is the tough one. I would be careful about any apartment complex...luck of the draw.

If you want to see the condos available around there drop me a spec with price and I will send them to you.

I have a condo that will be available the 22nd of august in just that area. PM me for details. It meets all of your listed criteria except for lease date.

I went through your same trials and tribulations here...looking for appartments and condos in Henderson. I am currently in Palm Villas on Whitney Ranch though previous posts knock this area. I actually have had no problems with it (keep in mind I have only lived here a month)...I mean its not high living but you shouldnt expect that in a large rental community. Can't control your neighbors, things break, etc.
My best advice to you is to just drive around. There are some really nice places...particularly Savannah apartments in Green Valley (there were actually quite a few nice ones in that area but its on the other side of the 215 so can be quite a drive). They actually had townhomes. Just keep in mind that the nicer places of course cost more. I want to say a 2 bedroom there cost around 1300-1400/month and I am paying just over 1000/month here. Stay away from the northern sections up near Tropicana and such as those appear to be a bit more crime heavy. Live on an upper floor if you are worried about break ins. Though many of the areas are gated, its seems that for most the security is pretty lax, and only requires a little patience for someone to open the gate for you...if the gate even works.
You might be better of renting a house or whatnot if you want peace and quiet. Though I rarely hear anything where I stay.

Hope this helped...Good Luck!
