What an aweful place to live I would imagine. How do they pay for housing on 10 cents a day wages?

I dont buy anything made in China if I can help it. I realize some things just are not made here anymore but I go out of my way to check labels.

A highschool classmate of mine actually moved to China to save his job. He works for Cisco systems as a product developer and have been with the company for 10 years. Basically to save his job, he had to move to China and set up their new facility there. He said that its pretty modern and has everything you would need. Polution is terrible, but he is indoors most of the time. He gets to come home 3 times a year.

The water in China is undrinkable, the air isn't breathable, and the food will give you bird flu/SARS/Chinese disease of the month. Really no serious comparison. As bad and mostly worse than Mexico.

Canada, Japan, UK, or maybe even Russia are valid alternatives.

Now thats funny. But do they have rice paddys in China? I though that was just in Nam.

Seems to me, as bad as the economy is, the choices are so so so far superior here then to transfer into that 3rd world hell hole just for a job. Cisco is large here but there are also many other trucking cos to choose from.

You've gotten Cisco Systems confused with Sysco, 2 totally different types of corporations.

Cisco systems is the company that makes the internet traffic possible. They make the routers and switches the make IP networking possible. As for my friend moving to China, well he gets to keep his job, and he also gets all his living expenses. If you have money in China, you live very good. The city is 1st world according to him and they get all the luxuries that Japan/Korea gets. He basically lives in a Hotel type of condo complex with all the bells and whistles.
