The Las Vegas Casino's pay their bills on time. Long term debt may be a different story

Off hand the late on payments is quite absurd. There is a view that perhaps half of Las Vegas is underwater on their mortgage but I don't believe that one either.

Got a source for that tripe or did you make it up?

yeah....you are clearly the first to point that out . did you even read the responses before you?

just another troll...this one from Imperial, CA.

maybe you should focus on the problems in your area before gloating about the troubled times of another. here is a start:

that is almost 23% unemployment...last i heard, LV's was about 9.1%

If it secretly makes you happy, then keep believing that. I'll go tell the other 37.5 million visitors that came here in 2008 (as of December) what you said...

And THAT, was a huge drop in visitors by Las Vegas standards mind you....

And wow!, your area and your whole state is in worse shape!

Why is it that people come on to the forum and say "your city is doomed..na na nanana... and they can't look at themselves in the mirror and say "my city is not any better". Its the "I'm better than you, and that makes me feel better about me.." Its just crazy!

The normal, intelligent and happy where they are type person has no reason to do so.

Therein lies the answer to your question AA..

Like taking pleasure in The NY Yankees losing, some may take pleasure in Las Vegas getting hit. Las Vegas was the king of cities as The Yankees were the kings of baseball. Seemingly invincible, with the attitude that they were better than everyone else...made it so much sweeter that they didn't even make the playoffs.

Honestly... I never thought that Las Vegas was the king of cities For me it was a good fit, but I wouldn't recommend it to some of my friends back in the Bay Area that are in the technology sector. I guess some people had that attitude, but I don't think that is the attitude of the majority of the people who like living here. I could be wrong, but that is not where I stand.

Las Vegas was and NEVER will be the king of cities, I have no clue where jfk got THAT one from either.

Maybe it was HIS own subconcious mind talking?

aaaah yup, I bet that's what old Sigmund would say

King of its type of city, maybe that is what jfk meant. I got it. Makes sense that some people want to see other places fail, maybe due to their own misery or that it will help their economy? I don't know, but there are people who exist to live on other's misery and shortcomings.

Misery loves company. I am sure Detroit loves Las Vegas. (and they both get to be where I live between, hmmm)

King of cities...from a media standpoint. All we heard for awhile was how LV is fastest growing city in the nation...and all the positive reasons of why that was so. Of course, the media has now done a 180 degree turn, and can only post the negatives of LV. To those not close enough to the city...the media paints the picture...which can be very different from reality...during good times, and bad.
