I was wondering what are the best parts of Vegas that are not too close to the strip but not too far. Not sure if it's possible to live in Vegas and not feel like you are in Vegas.

Thanks!

Have you read any other threads on this forum? I'm sure if you don't scroll more than about 1 page you'll find this question asked 3 other times...

Or even try the search function?

you need to also be more specific as to what you consider best.....

it means very different things to different people.

Actually, all the "living parts" are best. I hate it when there's dead parts.

What is so wrong with feeling like you are living in Las Vegas if this is where you live? What do you expect it feel like in Las Vegas, Memphis? Maybe you should have gone, or should go, to some other city; I guarantee that no other city in the world will "feel" like Las Vegas.

the only possible way to live in "LAS VEGAS" and not feel like you're "living in Vegas" is to move to LAS VEGAS, NM.......

meh....the only reasons it feels like vegas where i live are:

1. heat
2. you can see the statosphere
3. i can very leave my house and get the "vegas-feeling" w/in minutes

aside from that, it is just a neighborhood in a SW city.

It doesn't "feel" like Las Vegas in any of the homes I own....

Until I go to a supermarket or 7-11 that is...they mostly all have slot machines...

Exactly what I was thinking. I walk through the airport, supermarket or 7-11 and don't even see them... Hell, I even walk through the casino on the way to dinner and don't even notice them...

Yeah, It always throws me off when I travel to other places and they don't have slot machines everywhere. It seems really weird to go into a supermarket and or gas station and not hear the tell tale "ding ding ding".
