Las Vegasians,
First of all, I apologize in advance because I am sure you have got this question several times, but I looked through and didn't see anything. I will be out in Vegas for a 30th birthday party. We are staying in a condo close to the strip (close to Paris). I need to know a few things. We will be coming in on Friday, going to dinner and then out on the town.

1. What is a moderately priced restaurant that would be good for a group of 10 to grab dinner before going out? The standard American cuisine will do.

2. What are a couple club recommendations? Do clubs in Las Vegas not let people in the door or is it a pretty open policy?

3. How much money would you plan on dropping at a club on an average Friday night on the strip?

Thanks so much for your help!!!

Leave the club recommedation to those young enough to be willing to run the gauntlet. Bring money. Party of 10 can easily run past a couple of grand.

There are a plethora. Tryst and XS in Wynn/Encore; Ghostbar, Rain, Playboy Club (if you're not looking to dance) and Moon in Palms; just to name a few.
Expect to pay a large cover. I don't know what they normally charge ladies, but guys can range from $20 - $50 to get in. They can and will deny entry based on dress and gender. If there's too many guys, they will either not let you in, or make you stand in line forever.

Average beer is $7, average mixed drink is $12 - $15. I got a round of 4 drinks at Moon and it was $60. Just expect to drop a ton of cash if you're drinking all night at the club.

Default Re:

Be prepared to dish out a lot of dough for drinks at the clubs. I paid $55.00 for 3 drinks at JET in the Mirage. Not like they were complicated drinks either, liquor and a mixer. This included 10% gratuity.

For the restaurant, I would go the Pink Taco at the Hard Rock, great food, and moderate pricing.

The Mirage has some Prix Fixe menus for only $29.95 that look great. I have only been to Stack there but had some excellent truffle pasta (really to die for)
You can get into most any club for free if you are hot
sad but true
Drais is a really great afterhours place 20.00 cover they open at 1:00 am
check reviews online about that club
it is at Bills which is weird but more fun than any other

Although I am sure that goes for Rumjungle, it really goes for any nightclub. It almost always is a "sausage fest" so to speak.
