I auditioned for a position as a cocktail server for Tao Beach and they took a photo of me in a bikini. This was legit btw, I was in Tao.

I guess most of us were thinking that the OP was talking about about regular, inside hotel cocktail waitresses.

It would make sense that if you are applying for a cocktail server position in a BEACH/POOL type setting...you'd be required to wear BEACH apparel. Tao Beach, Mandalay Bay Beach/Pool, Flamingo Pool, Rio Beach....

Most hotel cocktail servers (in a non-pool setting) DO NOT have to audition for positions in bikini's....however, some of the costunes they wear ARE in fact, a little on the skimpy side...

Cocktail waitresses in Nevada have always been made to wear the accepted outfit for the property prior to hiring.

You're right Sheriff. Today I was at Harrahs, and I DID see a much older gal (at least in her 50's) working as a cocktail waitress. She had a black uniform on, tight fitting with short, short type shorts, just like all her younger co-workers.

You go first. Post a pic. If you are deserving, you may get that audition!

Station Casinos make you audition in a bikini and dance to Grease Lightning. Thats what they did when Red Rock first opened. I heard they are still doing that now. That is the only casinos to my knowledge that does that.

I made it to the "Audition" at Red Rock. When they told me I had to dance in a bikini and heels to get the job I told them if I was willing to do that I would be making a lot more money at the Spearmint Rhino! I had worked at 2 other pools as a cocktail server prior to applying to Bartend at Red Rock and had never been asked to dance in a night club in front of fully dressed management personell before. This seemed very degrading and unrelated to the actual job. If they are concerned with your "being comfortable in a bikini" they should have you come to the pool area and serve the management mock drinks---preferably with management in pool attire. This would actually be related to the job at hand.

I'm sure they can find better ways to judge personality, looks etc., but for every woman that won't do it (Like you & me) plenty of others will do just about anything to get in.
