Depends on what your priorities are. For cheap and convenient, it is the best neighborhood in town. For safe and peaceful, it's one of the worst. I personally wouldn't live there, but many people find this area right for them, because they need to live close to the strip and can't afford much more than a couple hundred dollars a week. There are lots of good people who live in bad neighborhoods, not because they want to, but because it's all they can afford.

After they put in the gigantic cop shop it has really cleaned up. Most of the apartments on SV have either cleaned up there act or have been boarded up.. This sounds crazy, but I liked it when it was "dirty" now its just a ghost town street. I live a little dangerously. If your looking for cheap but not ghetto. I'd rent at the corner of SV under the monorail. I think its called the Diplomat. Its not great. close to main drag and public transpo and 5 minutes walk to monorail. I really cant advise moving there unless you dont have a better option. my opinion

Sierra Park Is a quiet complex now, The new Managment is now enforcing strict policies to even be able to get to move in.

No more problems here, I have lived here for about 6 mos and love it. Now the other complexes down and across the street evidently dont care who lives in thier places. I am a single person, and security is a peace of mind to me at night.

Sierra Park is the place to live at in this area, I know the Mgt cares about a nice place they are repainting the handrails and parking lots which where in bad need for years......

Good luck on your apt search, I found mine and love it here....

Default Sierra Vista

ACK!!! DO NOT GO THERE!!!!

I made that mistake when I moved here, I came home to my upstairs neighbor walking out of my apartment with all my fixtures.

Hookers, druggies, bad bad bad bad bad!!!

My landlord would not fix my AC for 3 month in the dead of summer!

Needless to say we left without notice. AWFUL

Nearly 25 years ago when I first moved to Vegas, Sierra Vista was a quiet street. Hardly anybody walking outside. Now it is the complete opposite. Too much activity going on!!! The sub-station cleared the area a bit but most definitely there are better areas in town. If you must move there, keep your wits with you all the time.
