Definitely bring a coat or jacket. Plus a sweater or two. When you are walking the Strip out in the sunshine, it will feel warmer than just sitting outside one. Las Vegas is also prone to those wonderful north winds around february, so the wind chill will make it feel colder too.
The days shouldn't be so bad, but after the sun goes down, that is when you will feel the cold the most.
But if you are coming from New York, our idea of freezing our butts off is most likely different than your version. Our lows here hardly ever get below 20 degrees F in the coldest months.

Korea to Vegas. Are you Korean or an American ESL Teacher? I taught ESL in Seoul and Pusan for YEARS. Curious of your story.

Spring starts in February in Las Vegas so it depends on whether you are coming early Feb. or late Feb. Eary Feb the buds are out on the trees, but it can be sort of cold, especially at night. Late Feb, the trees are starting to blossom and it looks real purdy. Days can be warm enough to be comfortable in long sleeves, maybe even the occasional t-shirt, nights can still get chilly. If it's windy it will be very chilly, and March does come in like a lion here too. Like anywhere, you never know what the weather will do. We sure didn't expect weather in the 40's and 50's this week and snow on the mountain just yet, but it came anyway. Bring a jacket and one pair of shorts just in case. Otherwise dress like you would in April or May back east.

Welcome to Nellis when you get here. I work at the base and we did 2 Osan TDYs in Jan and Feb this last year... I have never been so cold in my life...

I'm a fellow Long Islander (Suffolk) , and I found Vegas in March (only a few weeks later) to be beautiful, "pool weather". People were outside in swimsuits during the day.

During the early mornings (esp. after a light rain), and late evenings, a light sweater or jacket was necessary, but I sometimes went without. Chilly, but no big deal. It's a different kind of chill than you're familiar with, because it is sans humidity -- definitely something to observe.

I'd compare the Winter early mornings/evenings to Suffolk County's Sept./Oct. evenings, only a bit "nippier". During the day, it was like our June without any humidity at all.

I witnessed amazing things happen in terms of hair and make-up -- no frizzies, and no need to touch up with face powder.

Hope that this helps; enjoy your time there!
