CAT drivers getting lost sounds like a good news story for someone like Tom Hawley on KVBC Ch-3.

The good points: It's cheap transportation. If it gets you where you want to go in a timely manner, then good.

The bad points: Having really stinky people sit down near you or next to you.
The buses don't always get to transfer points on time, so you either have to sit and wait or hoof it if it's in a good enough area of town to do that.

the only problems are that the transfers are not timed right, usually you only have 2 minutes to transfer, and if your bus breaks down or if there's some kind of accident or the other bus didn't stay at a stop long enough, you are screwed and that's sucks if that connecting route is a once every hr or once every 30 minutes...

other than that and it being really hot on the bus and them not being on time, i loved taking the bus before i got my license, it was a great way to get around the city and meet new people...

I find that if you want to take the bus, it takes much longer to get to your destination...

And sometimes, to get to the right bus, you have to take the car to the bus stop...

Sort of defeats the purpose of leaving the car at home completely.

Bad.....buses need to run more frequently to be an efficient system.
Good...price. I can get a one month bus pass for less then I pay to park downtown for a month.

???????? Sir, in many of your posts, you refer to yourself and the Four Queens, as, "WE" hired so many cocktail servers, "WE" had the best month ever, "WE" take pride in relating to the community--------yet you PAY for downtown parking? Either, your compensation is such, that paying for parking does not matter, or the Four Queens does not provide adequate employee parking. I know it's a couple blocks away, but can't you park for free at the "Shu's" employee lot?

I was wrong to assume that you were a salaried employee, of mid-level management, based on your length of service, and reference to, "We". Couldn't you park at the Golden Nugget, and have your ticket validated at the cage, or by a friend working there?

To get back on topic, about 10 years ago, I used CAT as transportation for a month or so. Very time consuming, and inefficient, but also proved to be a socio-econmic "wake-up-call" for me. The ridership clientele of CAT does not represent a wide spectum of peoples, public transportation in many other large cities does. Just my opinion, but try it sometime. A simple commute from your adobe to your work without the use of a car would perhaps show you both the good, and bad side of CAT.
