Hey,

I live out here in vegas, and i'd really love to work at a concert venue Like the House of Blues as a stage hand/ sound tech. You know, like set up the instruments for the band that's playing and everything.

I don't have any experience, and I just don't know how to get in. I see that there's the local stagehand union out here, But I don't know if I could focus on setting up the sound equipment or if I'd be forced to do something like rigging.

I found a article on e-how but it was helpful with the specifics. It just said go get a job, which would be great if I knew how.

I've checked the HOB employment for months now and I've never seen any job listing for a stagehand, even in other cities. Same thing with other venues.

Can anyone tell me how to get a job like that at the House of Blues or a place like The Joint at the Hard Rock?

I'm not sure if they'd need a stage hand in a venue like that. Most international touring acts bring their own Front of House person and guitar / drum techs. with them. They're usually the ones setting up the bands instruments and such. I'm also unsure as to the sound stage protocol at that venue.

Most of this knowledge was gleaned from working at a venue in Detroit. It might be different around in the clubs around here. I can tell you that the best possible way to get into a place like this would be to network your ass off.
