If you are talking about Red Rock Canyon, nobody lives there, it's a National Conservation Area.

Red Rock Canyon

The area nearby is part of Summerlin.
Though pretty nice, I find the houses to be overpriced cookie cutters and spaced way too close together.

If you are thinking about renting in Summerlin, you can find some really nice places for pretty good prices.
Wildwest dude is correct is pretty pricy.......but I find the area lovely. I worked in that area, it reminded me of back home. Quaint and quiet, alot of stores within walking distance or a really short drive. Just my opinion!

I would ask Olecapt, he seems to have loads of knowledge on the Valley.

unless you live near the Costco, Albertsons, or Vons shopping centers, what other stores are really within walking distance?

Upper...but not quite that upper. Down to about a half a million. And many blocks are way to tight.

We like it. We have great views of the strip and the Red Rock area. The area is new and has lots of great parks. Since they put the new albertsons shopping area in, it has been easier to get gas and get food. Also we are cooler than further down the valley because of the elevation. Places have gotten very reasonable too.

I have a friend who built a multi-million dollar home there among many other multi-million dollar homes. He showed me some of his neighbors' homes who are movers and shakers in Las Vegas. But Carol & I did look there when they first started, and although they were out of our range, there were many homes below the million mark...just not far enough below for us.
