It's funny. As much I love Las Vegas - the lights, the sense of freedom, the upbeat spirit, the vibrant life of the town that never sleeps. There is also a lot that scares me. I mean everwhere you go in Vegas there is a picture of a half naked girl, or an advertisement for a girl. In every casino there are people who gamble their lives away. In every bar sit alcoholics with a dismal future. It seems like so many people in Las Vegas have so many problems and dont even know how to fix them. It seems like the same things which make them happy like drinking excessively, gambling, having sex with escorts, doing drugs, and all else are the exact same things that make them miserable and unhappy.

I'll never forget seeing the man sitting on a stool on the casino floor with a stubble beard homeless and drinking the biggest bottle of budweiser I have ever seen.

Or the lady I saw gambling at the same slot machine for 2 days straight hypnotized by the sounds and lights that spun before her.

Or the jack boys jus sitting there in the Luxor self park parking deck casually waiting to rob people like it was an everyday affair

I like a lot of things about Las Vegas, but there no doubt there is a lot of sins that can commited.

Vegas has shaped my life enormously and I don't even live here yet. It has inspired me to come and enjoy life and live life to the fullest - to enjoy a place with the prettiest of women and the tastiests of foods. But there is no doubt that Las Vegas has made me wary of all of the sin and misfortune man can suffer if he is not careful and loses control of his life.

Now your turn.

All of the things you mention happen in every big city. Stay away from the strip and you will see people that live normal lives.

Smile Las Vegas

Yes Las Vegas is a town of sin and wonder!! Excitement and chance.
I love that about LV. Away from the stirp it is like any other town. It is
what you make it.
I lived there for 16 years and really liked it. I live in California now and I miss LV. I miss the excitement of it all and the 24/7 . I really dont miss the heat of it. Thinking of going back to it. The houses are cheap right now and, Im retired so I dont have to look for a job.????

No matter where you are life is what you make of it. All the things mentioned in the original post I never see. I never visit a casino and my family and I live a very fulfilling life here in Vegas. There is more to Vegas than the strip. It is not a perfect city but what city is.

Interesting post.

Quite a few generalizations though...how do you know the guys are intent on robbing people in the parking garage...and how do you know the guy with a large Budweiser is a homeless man?

Regardless, some interesting creative writing, and the visualizations of it are quite good.

I'm addicted to ink.

For a place world famous as Sin City, you'd be surprised at how many churches there are here.

Oh no I'm not generalizing EVERYONE in LV ofcourse not I'm just citing several examples. I know there are many many people doing well in Las Vegas. But ya jack boys aren't exactly hard to spot...nor is a homeless man.

But if you want speciifics when I parked the guys started to approach my car from both sides...I managed to put my car in reverse and get out of there before anything happened. My best friend had this happened to him so I'm not ignorant of these situations. And as far as the homeless guy he had a sleeping bag on him. Not a big one it was in his backpack.

Maybe you havent heard Vegas referred to as SIN CITY. Yeah, all that stuff is well known. If youre the type who cant live your life without focusing on what everyone else is doing. It might not be the best place. Maybe Montana would be more your kinda place. Less of the things you seem to find undesirable.

If I remember correctly Lexus dude is not old enough to be in a Casino or a bar.

So he is either a law breaker or he has a vivid imagination.

I go for the imagination. Who else would know the homeless guy with the big beer had a miniature bedroll in his backback.
