If the storm is big enough, it'll also snow on the Sheep Range. It doesn't last long, tho'.
The dog was a Lhasa Apso. They are said to be reincarnated Tibetan Monks, so I thought maybe it was some Buddhist thing.

There is usually snow on the north facing slopes and in shady areas in the Sheep Range that you can't see unless you go over there. Take the road from the Desert National Wildlife Refuge facility and go back in a ways. Most Las Vegans don't even know it exists.

Here is my favorite Las Vegas Snow scene. This is in my backyard.

The guard toad is a phoney. The rest is real. Well the guard toad is not really a phoney...but that is not where he really resides...

The west side usually get a little snow every year. The east side rarely gets any snow to speak of.

I believe this was the last time it snowed on the east side, it was gone when the sun came up.

John Fredericks said there might be a slight chance of a little dusting in the foothills near the mountains. That's like saying there's a 30% chance of rain in the valley...which means there's no chance at all, but there might be one cloud floating over if you're lucky, and if it has any moisture at all it will drop it on Mt. Charleston...They just like to make the boring same ole, same ole weather a little more interesting. The TV weather people each get the same report from the NWS and then put their own twist on it. In other words they even sensationalize the most boring weather in the country.
