Lex, I probably missed what you're majoring in. If you're not pressed to maximize your income while still in school, I'd try to find a company that offered internships in your field of study. It's a way to gain hands-on work experience to compliment your academics. That experience can help differentiate yourself from the other college grads you'll be competing against in the job market when you graduate. If you need to maximize your income while still in school, I'd look for jobs with an incentive based compensation plan; tips, bonuses, commissions, etc. It's tough to make a decent wage on straight salary until you have accumulated some real industry work experience.

I just found out I could get into med school with my 3.6 GPA so I'm going to skip the job and volunteer at hospitals

Do you want to be a doctor? I can get into med school too but I don't do it just because its there... And if so, do keep in mind the fact that Obama wants to socialize medicine now, which would completely change the ways doctors work and get paid...
