Hey Davie, on a completely unrelated matter...when my wife and I were walking around Cosmo yesterday afternoon, we went out to the pool area to check it out. That's a great work environment you've got there, lol. I wish I had such scenery when I was working!

Hit the M today for brunch with some locals and out of towners. Lovely place...Then made an apparent error. The hash house was calling for 45 minutes wait...and we decided to do it. Camped in a non-operating bar outside and actually got water and soft drinks from very nice cocktail waitress.

After an hour the signal went off and we were seated. Down hill from there on out. Nice waitress came by in a reasonable period for initial order. We decided that, this being Las Vegas, mimosas and bloody marys were in order. Luckily we also ordered coffee and ice water.

Fifteen minutes later she came back and got the meal order. The bar was still backed up. Another ten minutes we got the drinks. Not bad by the way...an exceptional bloody mary I thought.

Another ten minutes came the next announcement. The salmon had run out and our two salmon eaters needed to pick something else. They did.

Another 15 minutes and we began to get our meals. One plate at a time. The first of course was one of the not available salmon dishes. Then a couple of other things. After 6 or 7 more minutes the last item showed up...with the waitress to announce the salmon had run out after our order...not before.

the food was served hot though over a long time interval. It did not score any points. OK but overly carbohydrated...biscuit and potato out the giggy.

The waitress confided that it was a management screw up.. They set up for a light day and got overwhelmed.

Our local says it just was a very bad day and they are actually a lot better than that. The Admiral and I will probably not go back to the hash house. We liked the rest of the place and will probably try the other places over time.

Do yourself a favor and give HH another try - - - but stay away from the outlets located in the casinos. Go to the original on Sahara @ Rainbow and I'm sure you won't be disappointed (but you may still have to wait). I've never had a bad meal there.

I knew you looked familiar. You were sitting in front of the canyon bar. I was working at the pool all day. Sorry I didn't come over. Also the Hash House rents the space at the M. Next time try Marinellis. My favorite place in Vegas!

I haven't had Air in my cars, living 3 years in Phoenix, and 15 years here. But I work the nightshift, like you go, so what's the problem?

I leave for work at 9:35pm, when it's cooled down, I get off work at 6am, when it's still cool, do all my shopping after work, come home, sleep all day. So with my situation, I don't need Air! And why would you need it working nights as well?

If I only worked nights I would not need air either, but I don't. I am at work right now for that matter. I work 3 days a week on the graveyard 10:30-6:30pm shift and 2 days I have to work 3:00PM-11:00PM. It is leaving at 2:30PM twice a week that gives me the problem. Now that my car is in an uncovered parking spot at home it makes it really bad. I bought a new car with A/C over a month ago that has been sitting at teach1234's shop ever since. It is such a piece of crap that I do not want it back.

Thanks lyra, sounds like a great idea.

Happy Independence Day to all!!!!

Since I'm planning a move back to AZ sometime late next year, I've been comparing temp's every single day, from the newspaper, for over a year now: Tucson vs. Phoenix vs. Las Vegas.

If you want it cooler, then head to Tucson, as almost consistently, Tucson (higher altitude) records a lower temp at night then Las Vegas, which means colder winters than Las Vegas. And it's, consistently, about 5+ degrees cooler during the daytime.

So that's my ongoing dilemma: Tuscon (real estate more expensive than Phoenix, colder winters, more windchill, but an hour bus ride to Nogales for medical care and cantina hopping on weekends) or Phoenix (warmer nights, less wind, hotter days, cheaper real estate).

The Mexican media love to hear of these kinds of incidents up here. The American media blow crimes way out of proportion in Mexico, and this gives the media there an opportunity to seek revenge. Blow these recent incidents way out of proportion to scare middle-class Mexicans from traveling up here.

The Tijuana news media, can you imagine how they blow things out of proportion, crimes that happen in San Diego! They have fun, making it appear whatever happens there happens all the time!

Vengeance is best served cold!

Even if there's a murder every nite of the week on the strip, no way is that going to stop me from taking very early morning walks with my ferret on the Strip, a couple times a week.
