By the way, I'm with Kimba on the drug thing. Doctors just want to prescribe til the cows come home and not tell people how to change their lifestyles to solve the problem. There's no money to be had unless they are doling out the drugs.

I don't take any medication whatsoever any more, and hardly touch any painkiller unless it's super bad. I have codeine/tylenol left over from when my knee went out in February. Came in handy a month ago when I hurt my arm. But the pain has to interfere with sleep before I take it. I could never be a pill addict, just a book addict.

I remember an arrogant person who comes here on a regular basis living inside this bankrupt area in Spring Valley, Spanish Trails. What happens now, will the homeowners pay more on association dues?

If you have netflix you should take a look at 'fat, sick and nearly dead' on there.

I've heard about that movie. A lot of people on my food forum are talking about it. It's mainly how a bunch of people got healthy with juicing. While juicing is a good thing to add to a diet, it should not be the only thing they have.

You aren't fat though. You just think you are.

Of course. I routinely blend up a whole array of fruits and vegetables in a blender. It actually blends up very fine and stays sweet. I can literally feel the nutrients surging through me. Obviously though, this is still just an addition to a normal diet. It's amazing even when you think you're fairly healthy just how much healthier you could be. Healthy being a bit of a vague term but it applies to everything from your energy levels to your mental health. I mentioned the movie though because you were talking about pills and doctors medicating. There's a guy in the movie with some rare disease taking like 6 medications with terrible side effects. Simply juicing and then eating healthier I believe he got off all of them.

I was just talking to Pink about that movie the other day, as I knew she had quite a bit of knowledge about raw foods and such. I've always been intrigued about juicing and the theory that your body can absorb more nutrients from juice vs digesting the whole plant. I've eaten a very healthy diet for years, but started adding a glass of fresh vegetable juice every morning to see if Id feel better or notice any difference. I think I do feel a little more energy in the morning but it might be a placebo effect. As far as medication goes, Im a type 1 diabetic and inject insulin a couple times a day. My blood glucose levels have been lower since I started drinking the juice...but it will take more than a week to figure out if its really because of the juice.

I watched the movie online at netflix. I'm pretty sure there is a couple minute trailer on this website, along with a forum for people who are doing it...There is a questionnaire/survey type of thing that will help you develop a plan if your interested in trying something like this. Like everything else...this isnt a simple cure for all your diet/nutrition problems...bottom line you have to eat right and exercise...but If it inspires a coupe people to take a step in the right direction, then its all good.
