I'm sorry to hear about your Dad Davie. It's never easy to lose someone you have shared this life with.

You guys are lucky...we can't see it east of The Mississippi. We'll have to wait for next full one...in 2014!

Sucks you guys missed it! Woke up the kids and went and watched. Was pretty awesome having the sunrise behind you with the eclipse in front!

You're right that this forum just isn't quite my style. And neither was the RJ. Things got really bad, too much name calling, posting personal info, etc. I still stop by, from time to time, but mostly just to aggravate Capricorn! I do stop by here yoo, but usually only when an email reminds me that I haven't shown my bovine head up here for awhile. This place is....eh, it's OK, but it's just not havreman.

I found a new forum, brought fridhem over with me and I'm once again a happy and content cow! If you ever want to check the place out, let me know and I'll send you a PM.

In all seriousness, I used to really enjoy your posts over on the RJ. Best wishes and I hope to see you here from time to time.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am doing ok. Im still in shock that my dad is gone.

His 65th birthday is in two days. I am currently burning him a cd with all his favorite oldies songs.

Some of my best memories with my dad were when the whole family would be driving in that old 1982 Chrysler LeBaron K-Car we had, and he would blast his oldies music and I would sing along with him and the way he made me and my brother and sister laugh when he would goof off to his music

Jan and Dean - Little Ol' Lady From Pasadena - YouTube

The Lovin' Spoonful - Summer In The City (Hot Mono 45) - YouTube

His oldies station back then was called Cool 100.3 which sadly is now a spanish station. Orlando has a new one now called Sunny 105.9

My father loved his music, and because of him I have an appreciation for some of what may be the greatest era in the history of music
