So the police learned something from this, and will be furthur trained to spot something like this in the future to avoid another costly lawsuit:

$158,500 awarded by the Henderson City Councel to Greene, and $99,000 to his wife. And do you think this was a fair settlement?
I dont know about fair settlement because I have nothing else to compare to, but at least the settlememt was pretty swift.

The swift part of that settlement is the best part of it...should've been more cash for that poor guy!

Even if he was drunk, where does the dog pile and beatings come in at all? Having the communities trust is probably the single biggest asset. Throw that away and the police just start looking like thugs rolling around with badges.

Exactly...I was just going to say, since when does a drunk driver deserve to be beaten for that matter? Are police not better equipped than that to handle a situation? Sad, sad, sad.

*I in no way condone drunk driving....but I also do not condone police brutality.

Aside from the officer kicking the man in the head and the officer on the man's right kneeing him in the ribs the stop was textbook. Those two officers should be terminated and charged with civil rights abuse under the color of law. The others should face reprimand for not stopping or reporting the situation, but aside from the kicks and knees by those two individual officers there was nothing wrong with the stop.

I don't condone police brutality but every driver who gets behind the wheel drunk is a lethal weapon.
