Just the last one. Nothing says unemployable like a resume stain or two. I've also had to "adjust" a couple of dates so that I don't have too many gaps. And no, I've never cheated on my taxes. I just checked with Western Cab (they're really easy going), and they're hiring. I'll go down there tomorrow, if I can bum some gas money from my brother in law.

aqua...be sure to list on your resume health care aide (for your mom). If they ask for a reference, give them your sis or BIL name (last name is different, correct?) If memory serves me correct, your mom's last name was also different. It's really not lying, as it is something you actually did. The different last names would mask the fact that it was for your own mom...and true family members of the person cared for can truly support the fact. Just something to plug the holes with factual info.

I do list taking care of my mom, and I use the attorney who took care of the case for the referrence on that. As for my sister and her husband, let's just say that they tolerate me, and leave it at that.

The last few hours in the ER at Valley Hospital. It turns out that I have a 7mm kidney stone on the right side. It's obtructing anything, and it's not infected. Hopfully I'll be able to pass it soon.

My husband and I have both have had at least 15 of those between us. Here's what we have learned: stock up on painkillers so you never have to go the E.R. Anytime a doctor offers you Percocet, Darvon, etc., do not take all of them and stockpile them. It takes at least 4 of these 5 mg. to offset the kidney stone pain. The pain comes on so suddenly and can be such a shock to the system, vomiting begins. Soak in a hot bathtub, then run up and down steps and drink gallons of fluids. At least you are fortunate in being able to seek medical assistance. Without insurance, in our case, each episode costs us at least $20,000 if we go to the ER. \
Keep us posted............ It seems these stones always strike when a person is in no position to be sick.

I'm a little woozy, but otherwise ok. I've got county medical, so that'll take care of the cost. I've only taken one of my Percocet, and I'm not feeling nauseas at the moment. I did hork a bit in the ER. I've had a gallon of water so far, and I'm drinking some green tea at the moment. I can't take a hot bath, since the water in my apartment is heated by electricity, and my power's been off for about a month. Me, run? Not a good idea, it'd cause an earthquake, and the stairs to the upstairs apartment would go crashing down. They sqeuak violently as it is if you just walk up them.

I went down to Western Cab today to apply. The lady said that they're not hiring right now, but would call me if they start to. I want to go back down to YCS, it might be ok to apply again. I was interviewed there back in August, and the guy said to come back in three months.

Aqua, it sounds like you're going to be okay.

Airics, did you have an IVP for diagnosis? That alone, plus the radiologist to read it , is more than $3K. They would not give out pain medication until they had a concrete diagnosis. Also the blood work is mandatory and that ran over $600. Next the ER was billed hourly, then the ER doc sent a hefty bill and I can remember from the last one kidney stone, even each paltry liter of saline I was given billed at $35. It's much too expensive to get sick.
