I was up at Mt.Charleston today. Very pretty and blanketed in snow. In fact it was lightly snowing most of the time I was there. Definitely a nice change of pace.

I am feeling pure jealousy now. Glad you enjoyed it! I love it there. I am not enjoying the snow in flat ole MI right now. Just not the same as I cannot escape it in 20 minutes!

Went to a Christmas tree lighting here and froze our behinds off. Barely enjoyable. As opposed to when I went to Ethel M's and walked through the festively lit cacti, wearing only a light jacket. I was actually able to enjoy reading the plaques and viewing the garden there instead of rushing through it to get to the warmth. I loved it!

I enjoyed my escape-from-the-Las Vegas-cold trip to Lake Havasu this week. First time there. So easy to get to. 95 south to I-40, east to Topock, 21 miles south to Havasu, 144 miles total, can do it in about 2 hours.

Stayed on the island in a balcony room overlooking Thompson Bay and river, 1/2 block to the beach park. Went to some thrift stores, poked around, drove south to Parker and stopped off at some state park beaches, beautiful scenery.

There's roughly 60,000 people living there, good restaurants, lodging choices. I'll be back for sure!

What was Parker like? One of my sister's had a possible job opportunity there. She would have to relocate from southern California if she gets the job there.

Parker lies within the Colorado Tribes Indian reservation, where, naturally, they have a big casino/hotel complex north of town on the river. I drove around the town, not a very appetizing town in the least, can't be more than 3-4,000 people living there.

North from there to Havasu (38 miles) are skads of Snowbird RV communities along the river, very picturesque, to say the least, as well as Parker Dam, where the water is diverted to that Aquaduct that goes to Southern CA.
