No, you're wrong. Haven't you heard, according to most people on here were are still in a recovery? 2 out of 3 people on here recently said we will have recovered by 2013.

(sarcasm)

EDIT: Dow down 544 points as of this post. OUCH, even I did not think it would fall this much.

Just what Vegas needed....another downturn in the economy! It still hadn't recovered from the first one. And just when Lake Las Vegas was starting to rebuild....bam!

This one, I think is going to hurt...much moreso than the last one did.

JFK is exactly right. We are NOT stagnant. We were supposed to go through a depression back in 2008. Instead the Fed temporarily papered over it but none of the policies that caused it were fixed. Now we are back to square one and the Fed is out of bullets. It's coming so the best thing is to prepare for it. As far as your job, you might be ok because the Cosmopolitan caters to the rich. It is the local (station, coast) and lower end strip or downtown casinos that cater to the poor and middle class that are going to have the most problems.

Is that sort of like the hyperinflation you predicted in 2009 is coming?

Oops, it was already supposed to have occurred, wasn't it? And I do believe that interest rates are actually lower than they were two years ago.

Or is that sort of like the doubling of the price of oil that was supposed to occur between October of last year and June of this year?

Oops again, huh?

Oil is actually lower today than it was last October, isn't it?

Or is it sort of like the "depression like collapse within the next four months" that you predicted in July 2010?

Oops thrice.

I do believe that GDP has been positive every quarter since that little prediction. Now that economic growth has been pretty anemic, but it's growth nonetheless.

I think that I'd take economic advice from my cocker spaniel before I listened to anything you spouted.

I agree fully with you, LVD. Those band-aid fixes never really did stop the bleeding, did they? People have been lulled into the false sense of security that the 1929 depression could never happen again. Come on, given the history of the world, and the possibility of so much more future time, how could anyone believe that? It's all so very cyclical.
