^^^ late afternoon is the best time to catch them, right before dusk. i would imagine you would see them in the early morning hours as well, but i'm not a morning person & so i cannot tell you for sure.

if you lived in the town of blue diamond, you would see them daily - the residents share their lawns with the donkeys

It's so nice to see the wildlife of the desert! I've often seen the burros and coyotes, a real treat happened on a road trip through Arizona, a herd of wild horses!

The desert, and its inhabitants, is beautiful! Thanks for posting the pic here

Speaking of jobs, here is one some of you may be interested in...maybe von, since he will go the distance for a job if it pays well.
But you better hurry, since this one is only taking applications until Feb.27.

http://news.yahoo.com/antarctica-post-office-job-port-lockroy-application-190236612.html

Part of the job description: Are you in good shape? Able to carry a big, heavy box over slippery rocks and slushy snow? Happy not to shower for up to a month, live in close proximity to three people and 2,000 smelly penguins for five months with no power, heat or hot water and limited communications on a small island off the coast of Antarctica?

That was a different position but same company. My position was for a diesel mechanic. If I was single with no kids, I would be in Saudi Arabia or Antartica right now.

I sometimes wonder how anyone would consider a job like that above when you cannot shower, no hot water... Do they at least get their morning coffee or tea? Wouldn't mind penguins all over the place though.

As for Saudi Arabia, my brother just got back from there. He goes to different parts of the world teaching. He is a college professor. The stint before Saudi Arabia, was Vietnam. He makes more money this way and gets free lodging thrown in. He is single, so it probably works out better for him.
