Pretty blatant but I actually partially believed for about 15 seconds until they started the push one for more information stuff.

I'd contact Nevada Energy and let them know!

Something that Pahrump seems to have is a lot of friendly people. We stopped into the Goodwill out there, and the checker was really friendly. Asking me about a few books I bought, to come back and tell her how they turned out. Told me a few stories about life in Pahrump. She did admit that there wasn't much to do besides the casinos.
Then stopped at Subway on the way home and the workers were again very friendly.
The cops seemed to be overly friendly in giving people lots of tickets on the main drag. Luckily we have a really good radar detector and kept to the correct speed while visiting.

Funniest thing I saw while in Pahrump: Lowlife tattoos. Just struck me as funny the way they worded it on the sign. It's across the road from Goodwill.

Did not see the brothels at all. Wanted to get a photo with my husband in front of one, but he said he didn't want to drive to the outskirts of town to where they were. Oh well, there is always next time.

^^^ yes, the majority of people out here are very pleasant & have no problem helping out a fellow stranded on the side of the road or chatting with another patron in the stores.

another tattoo parlor is called "precious ****" next to enterprise rental car. they had a billboard at one point on the way into town, kinda an odd name for a tattoo shop, but it gets your attention!

every town/city has their good & bad points. unfortunately pahrump has gotten a bad reputation over the years & is struggling to get rid of it.

The last time I passed thru Pahrump, I was stopped by a cop, but only given a verbal warning, when I accelerated a little too soon before the speed limit increased, on the way out of town. It would be expected that traffic fines are a source of revenue for that city.

What this city needs is a smaller scale Town Square development to bring some focus to the city, some semblance of a downtown.

I doubt very much if there's any kind of bus service in that city, or to Las Vegas, but I may be wrong!

Can't imagine what it's like for the very poor who can't afford to have a car over there, or if you should lose your license for some reason.

Davie89 is probably saving his Benjamins and making his plans. Sounded like he's pretty determined to head back to Vegas.

Where is the best place to find a close match to travertine.... i'd rather replace 20-30 pieces than 1000 square feet of it...

Random, but we went to eat last night at a place here in Phoenix and a group of older ladies and gentlemen were seated beside us. One of them was wearing a very strong fragrance and it smelled EXACTLY like the Four Queens! That smell that they pump in the place to try to mask the smoke! Wonder if they bottle it and sell it in the gift shop there...(I surely hope not)

Ewwwww, Elle! That's even worse than the stench they pump in at MGM. That stuff stinks up your hair and clothes. Yuck.
