Dude, that sucks. I'm sorry.

A friend of mine got hit the other day. The girl tried to take off ( which is a felony now) and he boxed her in until the cops arrived. I assume no one was hurt, and that she has insurance?

I took my driving test here, btw. We get most of our really bad drivers from out of state.

My wife went to the ER. My neck is starting to hurt. BUT, it hurts from time to time from the last accident so I can't tell what it's from.

It busted her radiator so even if she tried to run, she wouldn't have gotten far. The cars were pinned together so she couldn't have ran any way.

The driver has a suspended license. She was arrested. The owner of the car has full coverage. I sure hope her limits are more than the last person that hit me. The medical bills alone ate up most of her policy.

I think I am going to have to get a sports car again. I have avoided so many accidents in my life by having a car that can handle, and by having excellent control over my vehicles.
This car couldn't stop or turn well enough to avoid this.

EA - yours is the 2014-15 Kia Soul in silver color and her's is the white whatever-it-is there with front-end damage? I ask because I drive a 2011 Kia Soul 5-speed base and am interested in how these cars perform under pressure and stressful accident situations. You didn't like how your Soul performed here - as in stopping and/or turning well enough to be able to avoid the collision? Just curious about any other details. The Kia Soul scores very well in the safety tests - 5 stars IIRC.

Sorry this happened - it does indeed suck big-time.

Sucks,
As a former NY driver I have defensive skills, so as the moron californicator cuts across three lanes to make a left turn, I am already reacting to him.

I moved over and hit the brakes. I could have hit another car head on had I gone over further, or I could have hit a nearly stopped van on the right side. The van was blocking both of us from seeing.

By the time I did see her, all I could do was move over and hit the brakes.

obviously not to scale.

The amount of distracted driving here is enormous. The cell phone law didn't do anything.

I would HIGHLY recommend every driver get a dash cam, video proof is a TON more powerful then a description.
