The distance is less important than safety.
There's no way in hell I would do that walk.

Speaking of Ballys, when I was in Vegas for business, I drooled over their pool. It is 12 feet deep, IIRC. I wasn't staying there so I couldn't swim in it. They let people take a look, though.

What is wrong with the walk? Is it a dangerous area, or is it just too much traffic?

The whole route is just sketchy. The way the path is is just awful.
