Yeah, JJ, let me second that welcome.

Speaking of "Welcome to Vegas," after five months I finally made it over to the DMV to transfer my license and registration, and picked out a plate with the Welcome to Las Vegas sign on it. It took just under three hours for the whole thing, and the entire process wasn't as bad as I had been anticipating. Of course, I was prepared and had all my paperwork with me. I feel sorry for the people who waited in the initial line with me for 1 1/2 hours just to get to the information section to find out that they didn't have everything they needed and would have to come back another day.

BTW, one of the reasons that I waited until now to get this done was that I was waiting for a speeding ticket from July 2006 to drop off my record. For those who may not know, Nevada requires anyone coming in from another state who has had more than two traffic tickets in the last four years to take a written test before getting a NV DL. So with the expiration of the July 2006 ticket, that left me with exactly two tickets between August 2006 - August 2010 and the ability to transfer my license without the other hassle.

It's nice not having to worry anymore about getting stopped and perhaps receiving a $1,000 fine for not having a NV registration.

I hope that your liver function test are OK. A liver can only take so much alcohol before it starts to go bad.

Not trying to be mean. Just pointing out a potential problem that will ultimately sneak up on you.

(I yell at bike riders to wear helmets too.)

Went to Cashman Center last night to see the 51s. I really enjoyed it! I am not used to going to a stadium where it is less than 1/2 full so it was rather nice. Maybe not so nice for the 51s but...
Even the Lions fill their stadium...lots of wishful thinkers there!!!

Anyway, it was Holly Madison Bobblehead night...So very Vegas...cheesy!!!! But, fun!

There they are...we have added some Vegas geegaw to our house now!!

Cool pictures, Kimba. If you ever get tired of the Holly Madison bobble head, you can always sell it on eBay.

Sigh...I just love (not) getting e-mail like this. I applied for a room reservationist job at the Four Queens, and this was their response:

Re: Application for EmploymentPosition(s)ear Axxx Rxxxxxx,

On behalf of our company, I want to thank you for your application for employment.

We have carefully reviewed your qualifications, but unfortunately our current status is such that we can not extend an offer of employment to you. We will, however, keep your application on file. We appreciate your interest and wish you success in finding employment.

Sincerely,

Pamela H (I don't remember her last name)

I have an interview tomorrow at Texas Station for an on call front desk clerk spot. All prayers and well wishes are greatly appreciated.

The reason that you got the rejection letter is simple....that position was filled via in house transfer....it was posted as a matter of law but NO one was interviewed for it because it was filled byt the time the first application was received.
