We'll see how it goes

You sure are motivated, I will say! I wish my 20 year old son was half as motivated as you. When kids are handed everything they need to survive, they never learn survival skills. My ex did just that for my son. It would not have been the way I would have done things.

Anyway, I kind of felt that same way today as I ventured out and about here in CH! It was sooo nice to be cruising around. So pretty to me here. The mountains out my backyard this morning, sun rising over them. Crisp air. Love it. Missed it more than I thought! Something as silly as the fact that all the parking lots here are so much nicer than in MI. Cleaner, palm tree lined, just all around nicer. I know they are newer and they don't have the crappy weather issues MI has, but still, I notice it.

Good luck with your apps!!!!

Oh and BTW, EVERYONE lives with some regret for the rest of their lives. Impossible to get through your life without a few. You are human.

I have always wondered why you go from Michigan to Vegas and back constantly. Are you retired? I am only curious is all since you do not seem to follow the typical snowbird pattern.

Yeah, I am doing it a bit backwards, huh? Well, it is because my husband's job transferred him here as there was very limited opportunities in MI and better ones here...imagine that. He is a painter and while construction has taken a huge hit, there will always be hotels redoing their rooms. Right now he is running the job at the new VA hospital. We have been blessed in that area.

BUT, we have a home in MI too. I have a daughter who is a junior in HS. She did start HS at Coronado and did well, but...the short version is that we decided not to waste money renting with housing so low here. That would mean moving her again and we decided not to.

So, I travel back and forth when I can. Not easy, by any means. I quit my job as an Admin. Asst. so that I could do this.

That makes sense. I was always meaning to ask, but I always forgot. You must have to fly a lot to say the least. I personally would like to spend the summers in Lake Tahoe, and stay in Vegas for the other 9 months.

Kimba, I have told myself I never want to get accustomed to all this natural beauty but I think that is happening already. When I get up in the morning, I find myself no longer going "wow" and when I'm driving, instead of being awe struck by the changing color of the mountains, I'm starting to **** and moan about the traffic. It's going to be a good wake up call when I return back to Michigan/Ohio for Thanksgiving.

LVD, I spent quite a bit of time one summer in Tahoe and although it's drop dead gorgeous, it gets really cold there. Had a hard time getting used to that and probably never did. Also there is nowhere near the things to do there as here unless you are big into skiing.

Aqua, good luck on Monday. Anyone "can" die with a surgical procedure but seldom do. Infection, blood clot, anesthetic, any of those things. You can die going to the dentist if the anesthetic goes wrong. Dogs have died at the Vet's getting their teeth cleaned. Knowing that, having the procedure is usually much more weighted on the for side than going without because those odds are really slim.

What a beautiful day it is! I love the fall here in Las Vegas, like fall in UT but warm.
Family are visiting again from SO CA, made turkey chili and cleaned my house and that is all I am doing for them. I am tired of visitors but because dh is nearing his time on this beautiful earth I am grateful for them.
Anyone go to the Circus Circus Haunted house thingie? It looks like I would love it! I am a Halloween freak.

Nice out now. I was cold for a bit last night, but fought the urge to turn on the heat...

I love Fall and it's even better in Vegas because I don't have to say goodbye to the sun.
