Free concert at Nature Discovery Park in Aliante this evening, from 8-10p.m. Blues type music, "Big Al and the Shuffle-Aires." Lots of extra parking at Smiths shopping center directly across the street. I just found out about it, so am posting it now.
Be there or be square.

It was on channel 266 at approximately 5:45pm. Encore was showing the movie 2012 and that was about the time in the movie that Las Vegas was destroyed. I'm still trying to figure out the logistics though. The protagonist's plane took off from McCarran just as the tower exploded, then flying at low altitude, flew between Wynn & Encore as they were crumbling, then started climbing altitude and just cleared a crumbling Bellagio, and then finally, through the smoke, clipped the top of the Eiffel Tower with its underbelly as it escaped the destroyed city in the background.

As you can imagine, the story was kind of stupid, but the f/x were outstanding.

What kind of temps this time of year, are they lower than usual, your saying "mild" for May makes me wonder what "mild" means?

Someone else's earlier post says hailstorm in Henderson just a few days ago, so it sounds like the air is feeling comfortable right now, not too hot.

I wonder if it means snow on the mountain roads coming in on the interstates.

We have had a really mild May this year with temps fluctuating between the 60's and 90's. And a lot of overcast, rainy days. Usually May is what I would consider a summer month with temps ranging more in the 80's, 90's and sometimes even getting close to 100.

No there is no snow on the interstates. It's too warm for that. However...I hear it's still snowing up at Mt. Charleston which is about a 45 min to one hour drive. You have to go up higher to get to the snow.

This sounds like maybe a good time to take another long drive to look at a few more possible retirement properties before the high heat of July sets in. I noticed once in July that even though it was very hot, there was also a lot of wind blowing through, so it wasn't stiffling, it had a nice constant breeze.
