FWIW - I expect that working security would tend to color one's perception of the neighborhood. If most of the people you meet during the course of your job are lowlifes, you are probably going to start thinking that all the rest of the people that you aren't meeting are also mostly lowlifes.

Yeah, highly doubtful as a security officer in the Bellagio, not the jail. Of course you would see lowlifes (and that is dependent on your idea of what "lowlifes" are) but you don't have to be a security officer to see that.
