Are you talking about restaurants on the Strip, in hotels or not in hotels (casinos), gourmet, cheap eats, good off-Strip restaurants, ethnic, American, or what?

One thing that the 20 year invasion has given us to make up for ruining our town is that we now have a zillion good restaurants scattered all around the Valley, so that we don't have to fight the hordes of tourists on the Strip for a good meal with bad service, and high prices anymore. Good restaurants used to be hard to find in Las Vegas. Not any more.

You're not being much help. If you want help you need to offer a little more information. Is there a type of food that you like? Is there a price range? There are hundreds of good restaurants in Las Vegas. We can't list them all. Also, there have been several threads on this subject here, so if you just do a search you'll find a lot of local info.

Price range doesn't really concern us at all. We would preferably want to eat at an Italian, Thai, Brazilian, BBQ, and Greek restaurant.

6) Wing Lei in Wynn- chinese
7) Bouchon in Venetian- breakfast
8) Society Cafe in Encore- breakfast
9) Delmonico (Emeral Lagasse's restaurant) in Venetian- dessert

(some) Great restaurants off Strip I highly recommend
1) Hash House A Go A Go (Sahara)- breakfast

3) Agave (Summerlin)- mexican (especially when there is live music)

Possibly the best restaurant in town is Pamplemousse, just east of Paradise Road on Sahara, behind the Sahara Hotel. It is expensive, the service is impeccable, and the food is out of this world. My two favorite Italian restaurants are Gina's Bistro, a new place on Durango. They are about as authentic as you can get, since nearly everyone there is from Italy. The food and friendly service is like you'd get in Italy. They'll make you feel at home. Gina's Bistro

My other favorite Italian is Grape Street Cafe. I know that all their food is good because I've tried it, but their linguine and clams are so good I can't seem to order anything else when I go there. Grape Street Cafe - Wine Bar & Cellar (http://www.grapestreetcafe.com/home.cfm - broken link)

There are dozens of really good Italian restaurants in Vegas, so if you don't want to venture that far off the Strip, try Piero's on Convention Center Dr, or DeStefano's on Flamingo Rd. Both are old time Las Vegas. I love DeStefano's for fantastic food and a great old Vegas atmosphere. I don't think you'll kiss any rings at Piero's these days, but it was (who knows, maybe still is) an old mafia/rat pack hang out, so you know it's good. Sinatra used to call them from wherever he was appearing and have them fly in a food order to him. Used to be called Villa de Este.De Stefano's Italian Restaurant - Las Vegas

Next door to DeStefano's is Fiji, a very good Japanese restaurant. There are other good ones around too. There are good Indian restaurants, but I haven't been to one in a while so can't recommend the best.

If you venture up Spring Mountain Road, you'll find China Town. There are a zillion Asian restaurants there. You'll also find Brazilian and, I think, Greek along Spring Mountain. The best Thai is supposed to be at Lotus of Siam in Commercial Center on Sahara about a mile east of the Strip. Lotus of Siam - Las Vegas

My favorite Thai is either Jasmine Thai: Jasmine Thai Gourmet (http://www.jasminethaigourmet.com/main.html - broken link),
or Pin Kaow: PIN KAOW; Thai Restaurant - Location (http://www.pinkaowthai.com/2.html - broken link)
both have locations close to where I live.

If you like Mexican food, best in town is one of the Lindo Michoacan's: Lindo Michoacan Mexican Restaurant - Las Vegas
or Frank and Fina's Cocina: Mexican Restaurant, Mexican Food, Catering - Las Vegas, Nevada. - Home

New Mexico cuisine (not the same as Mexican) is the best food there is but hard to find outside of the state of New Mexico. We have three or four Garduño's here. I don't do many recommendations for chain restaurants, but Garduño's is a regional chain owned by a family in Albuquerque. George Maloof who built the Fiesta and the Palms is from Albuquerque and they are friends of his. So you'll find them in the Fiesta, the Palms, and the Henderson Fiesta. They are not even close to the best in Albuquerque, but they are the best here.

For breakfast try one of the Original Pancake House restaurants. It is a chain with a German flair, but all the ones locally are owned by a local couple who I believe are German, so it's a great place for breakfast. The Original Pancake House

Italian I would have to say Nora's on West Flamingo. For Thai I like Ocho which is on Las Vegas Blvd. and Sahara. Most Thai people that we are friends with say that one. But you have to not pay attention to the outside and where it is located. They still have the best food.
