I would like to know how to get into casino security. I have heard it is difficult. Who do you talk to to get your foot in the door?

Try stealing a few chips from your friend at the table. Then, when they take you back into the security office, whip out your resume!

My brother-in-law is a security officer at the Gold Coast. You should enroll in a security course at CSN, and then start off with one of the private security companies here in town.

You think that would do it?

I'm not from Vegas, but planning on moving soon, what is CSN?

CSN is the College of Southern Nevada. It's the working man's equivalent to UNLV. There some other private colleges here, such as the University of Phoenix, but I believe that CSN credits are transferable to a four year college or university.

Its not that serious Shayne. Most, if not ALL of the casinos (even on the strip) will hire you without ANY prior security experience at all. Wynn/Encore does. Great luck in your pursuit.

They will hire you but do not expect to get the same pay. Wynn/Encore pays $14.32 hr with experience but only $11 something without. Just FYI.

Wow, maybe I should look into working casino security. I have been at my security job for 2 and a half years and only make $9.50 an hour. I work for an office building with a private security firm.
