The cheaper the rent, the worse the place. And they come with furnished pets (cockroaches), lots of them.

Centennial Hills is very nice, Summerlin, very West Charleston, like 9900 or Sahara.

Stay away from North Las Vegas, East Charleston area, especially around Nellis. However, the apartments on East Sahara, by Las Vegas High School are fairly nice. Don't go anywhere on Lake Mead. Or North of Lake Mead.

Green Valley, and Henderson have some nice places, but I don't know those areas as well.

Are you even from Vegas? If you were, you would know that North Las Vegas is extremely nice.. You must be referring to Northtown. Aliante is in North Las Vegas or did you not know that... Anything that is North of Craig and West of 15 is a very nice area... \\

Stay away from the east such as Nellis

I would not live in North Las Vegas. Not Aliante, too far away from places, and public transportation if he wants to go to the strip on the bus. Since I take public transportation everywhere that is how I judge many places. Not to be rude. Also, if he is eligible for paratransit, paratransit service is not available in many areas of Aliante/North Las Vegas until they change the CAT routes to acknowledge the growth in those areas.

In Summerlin, many of the apartment complexes are close enough to walk to the store, and there are nice walk ways that are lit with parks and bike paths to cruise around on. It is a short commute to the strip, and easy to take a bus there if you live in a complex on Sahara or Charleston. Don't forget about the best bonus in Summerlin, Barnes and Noble, and Whole Foods.

Best place to eat: Hash House a Go Go, and Cafe Rio.

you made it sound like in your post that north las vegas (aliante) is crime ridden and a bad area when you dissed it only because of public transport and what you think is too far from the strip... got news for ya.. its about the same from summerlin to the strip as the northwest due to construction

I live in Aliante and it is far from the Strip, downtown, Henderson especially, but that's why I live here. I like being far far away from everything. But we have all the shopping we need out here. Come out for a visit on Ice cream sunday on the 27th from 11am-3pm and see the changes. At Nature Discovery park. Free ice cream is always good.
And you must not keep up on bus service. We have it out here. You can get a bus in Aliante that takes you to the strip and vice versa. It's been in effect since January. It goes as far as Aliante Station casino. There is also another bus on Decatur, which is just a short distance away, and it will take you all the way down Decatur to the other side of town.
