What is this neighborhood like?

Is it safe?

Easy to walk?

Does it have a future if Las Vegas Expands?

Convenient to downtown hotels?

Any info would be appreciated.

It is a rough, tough inner city area with rather high crime.

go to....

http://www.lvmpd.com/crimeviewcommunity/wizard.asp

And try the area.

That area has some signs of gentrification. But the recession has put all that on hold likely for some years.

It is a long walk to the downtown hotels. I don't think riding a bike in the area is practical.

You mean like over by Tiffany, Bell, Sycamore? The number street neighborhoods?

Buyer/Renter beware. Old, rundown, small, unkempt neighborhoods (in my opinion)

I DEFINATELY wouldn't be looking forward to living anywhere near there

My opinion is I wouldn't be looking there either. There are pockets of streets over there that are OK, but you'll need to give us locals a bit more info.

Provide intersecting streets like you did in your first post, then we'll know the neighborhoods you're talking about, love.

To get anything "safe" and "decent" you really should stay away from anything close to the Strip ... and for SURE anything that says Downtown. There is nothing nice "downtown."

Disagree. The area east of the Stratosphere is quite livable. Clearly gentrifying.

I guess .... if what you are looking for is "livable." I sure wouldn't live there.

I disagree with your statement totally. But I guess that's what is good about opinions, everyone can have one.

Some very nice houses in there. The schools are likely pretty bad but other than that it is quite workable.

Have a friend in Soho...she thinks it great.

Takes all kinds...
