The agent sent me these locations which I'm going to see next month. Been told that the southernmost spot is the best out of all of them. I'd like to be able to rent it out for a year to a family before actually moving out there. Is there excessive noise from the airport at the locations off of 215? What do you guys know about these neighborhoods?

I really look forward to going to Vegas, everyone I've met who has visited or lived there has only said good things about your city.

Evidently your realtor has something against the 2 most popular areas of Las Vegas, Summerlin and the northwest.

I disagree, I don't believe the NW is the most popular...The South part of town, imo has a lot more conveniences, although all areas suit each person differently...

The areas close to the airport generally do not have much noise, I live close to the airport and do not have any noise issues...The Southernmost area is growing, but I would rather be a little more northern near the areas around 215, it is closer to the Strip and airport and lots of shopping including 2 malls...We have been in this area for 2 years and have never been happier...

All the houses look exactly the same in Las Vegas...one-eyed upside-down blue teardrops!

Yes, the sameness, the sameness. Are there statistics as to how many of the elderly or the inebriated who drove home one night to their master-planned community, drove into the driveway of the wrong house, saw lights on inside, called 911, to report a home invasion in progress?

When I moved to Las Vegas I knew, for certainty, I wanted a Central location. I couldn't afford Huntridge, so had to go out a mile or two furthur east. And how I wrestled with my agent, day in/day out, all trying to persuade me to move furthur out and buy a "marshmallow-looking house". I saw the parklike settings at Greenbriar, which I discovered from driving around), fired my agent, got another, and ordered her to buy me a townhouse there, didn't even matter which one. You pick it, I trust you! And she did. Sight unseen. Been happy there eversince.

You don't want to know, overall, my opinions of the opinions of real estate agents.

If you wish to measure popularity in terms of where people buy houses the north side...not the northwest is the big guy.

If you define the NW as including NLV it is far and away the largest source of home sales.

Even the south and soutwest does not come anywhere near that North/NW combo.

The non Henderson south/SW is not a very big market. Maybe half of the north/NW.

I would be cautious of the two northern most. Nothing wrong with the rest.

I agree with the kid. Noise should not be an issue.

I don't know what your spec is so it is difficult to comment further. I would think that set appropriate if you have someting that ties you to the south end of the strip or the airport. Otherwise I would be skeptical.

The ones that are south of the 215 should be fine.

The two that are north of the 215 are close to some not-so-desirable areas.

Can someone comment on the location bounded by Craig, MLK,Alexander and Kingshill.
We've looked at a nice property in that area, but it is a bit south of Craig.Looks pretty nice!

We also have looked at a couple in Eldorado. Any opinions?

I would say that as long as you stay north of Cheyenne you're fine...Alexander is so close to Craig that I wouldn't find it a problem...
