Have lived in Whitney Ranch for about ten years now. Have I just reached my noise threshold these days or is McCarran sending twice as many planes to land over us since the runway was repaired? Anyone else noticed? THanks

It could be worse. You could be under the flight path to Nellis and McCarran like many of us in the valley. Nellis has their jets going til almost midnight on some nights.

I don't mind the planes from Nellis. At least they pass by quickly. Feel bad for those poor *******s who live near a MAC base, and have to put up with those flying semi-trucks!

I live at Maryland and Flamingo. The commercial airplanes from McCarran airport drive me crazy, sometimes they shake the apartment so bad that it wakes me from a dead sleep.

I suppose compared to Nellis jets it's not as loud but we do get those guys fairly regularly these days too. The problem is the amount of traffic, no exaggeration a plane would come over once or more a minute and I'm fairly certain it was not that frequent before the construction of the runway, maybe not since so far no posts corroborating my opinion.

It is interesting. NLV pretty much considers the jets from Nellis a positive. Almost everybody likes them. And they are vastly noisier than the jets approaching Nellis.

I gave the keys to her new house to a young lady moving into NLV and she remarked as how the F16s had welcomed her. She is military but still.

I live near the Henderson air field and see/hear small planes fly by all day. I've gotten used to them now. Just makes me jealous that I don't have one of those jets to myself...haha.
