I'm moving to Henderson from the East Coast and I've sort of settled on the Green Valley area. Does anyone have personal experience with apartment buildings (and apartment management) around there? Everything looks fabulous in the pictures on the web site and they may even look okay in person, but I know reality can tell a different story. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

The Equistrian or any of the half dozen along Horizon Ridge. The difficulty is they are all sensitive to management which changes periodically.

I recommend a condo which are reasonably easy to find in GV and overlap most of the apartment rates.

If you check apartmentratings.com the Equestrian has a lot of bad reviews. As for condos, I know they take a lot of research to make sure the owner is not about to go into foreclosure. Any other suggestions?

We have people on here who have personal and recent experience with Equistrian. I tend to put more stock in that then in reviews. Though I do suggest looking at the current reviews. However anything over a year old...?

Owners going belly up is not a serious problem. Particularly if you avoid those places where everybody is going bellyup. It is reasonably simple to determine that the lease is safe for six months...then check every month or two if the guy is going down renegotiate your lease. Likely save enough money to make moving when you have to worth while. And you may be there a long time at a very reduced rate. And it takes less than 10 minutes to tell if the owner is in trouble.
