Floaters and holiday pay yes if you’re in the local 226. To get the holiday pay you must work the holiday or the day before it or after it if you where scheduled off for the holiday. Vacation time, not sure. Insurance the magic # is 120 hours monthly. This comes from the current Culinary contract in place with MGM that CC will follow after the vote has been ratified.

I hope i will hear from CC next week.
There has been a rumor going around that MGM is planning to split the company up. MGM would just own The MGM Hotel/Casino and Aria.

I wouldn't say it's in our blood to complain, generally you are concerned when you apply for full-time and get part-time. Anyone who wouldn't be worried or have questions is either as bright as a rock or just doesn't care enough about their job honestly.

Mandarin Oriental is an independent company and not part of MGM Mirage corporation. They are not union either so if you do get hired, you get paid 100% of what they offered you from day 1. I got offered a job there as a server and was really happy to find that out after working for casinos that are culinary where you start out at 80% for the first 90 days. There are some instances where if you open up the restaurant, they start you out 100% even if they're culinary. This is what happened to me at Caesars Palace. Anyway, goodluck on your interview at Mandarin. If you do get hired, you will be pleased with the benefits that they offer their employees. It's a huge company and they have great clientele.

I can answer this, since you are going to be in the union you have to work at least 120 hrs every 2 month to keep your benefit, and you have to pass 90 day probationary. Its depend on how much you work within a year to get any vacation, for example im on call at luxor right now i usually work 2 day a week and they only gave me 32 hrs worth of vacation. So the more you work the better you will be what your senority #?

Sorry guys for asking if CC will be a Union facilities, but it is true i was a part time employee for more than a year but Culinary gave me a full benefits. Vacation yes, I do worked 40 hrs a week but sometimes 32 hrs a week but as long as you worked at least 120/month your benefits will continue. CC is now talk of the century, but is it really safe to work with CC, maybe or unless they will offer us a full time basis with fixed days off and schedule. But I still accept any offer from them, I still have more than 2 months to decide. And I am praying that our economy will be better in the future.

The management staff they brought to the company has their own expertise to contribute to meet the desired rating Mandarin is striving for. They brought management staff from NY, Bangkok, California, Europe, Thailand, and one from Vegas who's been a Manager here for 10 years (this is to get insights on the locals). The staff they hired have extensive experience. I've talked to some during orientation and some were coming from Wynn, Bellagio, and Four Seasons. If you're going to the job fair, make sure you know the history of Mandarin Oriental because they are big on that and they will ask you how much you know about the company.
