I guess I am thankful I am not one of the many unemployed and the hospitality industry in general is pretty good about getting full-time opportunities. I worry about them ditching out part-timers once probation is up to be honest with you.
let me see if i get this right.. you have a full time job with benefits (lousy benefits, but u do have them).. and you are going to quit that job to work at cc part time in hopes that it goes fulltime, even though rumors are already flying about the chopping block and mgm downsizing...??????????

It's having empathy and compassion for those other: 200,000 thousand
people: who are not being offered a dream job at: "City Center". I do
sympathize with them. Other, people simply don't care!!!! That's the
difference between me and them.

How are they going to hire: 12,000 people in one day, (Monday?), it
will probally take up to: December to process and orientation for all
of them. Could you imagine that line to get a cup of coffee or go to
the bathroom??? They are going to have to do this in all three shifts!!!
, What about parking!!!!!!!!!!

Why not, If the poster can manange to work both jobs for awhile and keep the options open. Save some cash from the part time employment and gain some experiance.

You just *now* got to this post? Wow you are really slacking on the negativity patrol airics. I have a full-time job that nets me as much as I would make in one week for City Center. My spouse also works which enables me to take a chance. Unless you know my work situation I don't think you have much reason to speak on this particular issue. My benefits (health) consist of a $2300 deductible, in essence I have no benefit because every expense I have had I pay for out of pocket. I won't even go into the policies I have at my current place of work but trust me not many people would even last a month there.

There are ALWAYS rumors flying around about this and that, the only way you make anything out of opportunity is to take a chance. So damn right if I can make as much a week working for CC 20 hours as I currently do in a week with 40 hours, I will take that chance. I am VERY confident in my qualifications and work ethic that I will manage to be just fine.

Hi good people,
We are all about 48hrs from getting our job offers. Butterfly you are in my prayers each night to get called. This post has been great with lots of info with many of us having the same dreams..Everyone who has not been called check your email on Monday. There is no way they can call 10000 people in 1 day but they can sure do a mass emailing, It is starting to get cold at night here in Buffalo Ny and I long for the hot desert. Good luck everyone and God Bless

Guys and Gals, Airics is just laying out reality for you. The City Center is going to be the single biggest failure in Las Vegas history. I have a friend who works at the MGM Grand. He has told me some confidential information about the City Center that I cannot publicly post. Not only that, I have talked to many of the construction workers who are currently building the eyesore. They all agree on this too. I personally would not accept a job if they were willing to pay me 3 times what I make now. The reason being, I know the job would be temporary, regardless of what they told me. I feel bad for everyone who has wasted all their time applying for city center, but the truth needs to be told.
