AND one more thing.
Don't even start to believe there was a huge NET increase of "permanent" jobs because of this project.
12,000 "claimed" by the paid MGM Execs, but,
4,000 or so were internal transfers, and let's say,
4,000 were "hired away" from the competition, and then let's say,
2,000 are "on call", so maybe that leaves approximately,
ONLY 2,000 PEOPLE HIRED RIGHT OFF THE STREET WITH NO GAMBLIN', HOTEL, RESTAURANT, COCKTAIL, OR VALET EXPERIENCE.
Adding it up would be MGM got paid a 6 to 1 bang for their PR hire buck by "claiming" 12,000 hires, but the only actual "PLUS" to the Las Vegas economy was 2,000 hires,
with the other 10,000 "claimed" hires really just LAYOFFS from every where else.
And they're hopin' we can't do this kind of math 'cuz we are the 2nd STUPIEST in the entire COUNTRY. (aka RUBES)
(Now you know why they think we don't need no stinkin' local education, and never will....)

i was lay off my 1st day there. And i wasn't the only one there was like 100+ more.

Don't say there are "many" and post one link..with one person.. that doesn't support much to say the least. Hey there are a lot but here's one link that has ONE person.. I mean really, that Mirage drop was known over a month ago and is not new news.

I am not going to Google it and sift through a bunch of rants because I have better things to do with my time. My point was basic and it's like oh yeah there are soo many people here's an example and post one link that has one person who was laid off without any sort of backup, it was a written rant to a morning show with no way to verify it and with that being the initial link it is about as credible as job postings on Craig's List. Is this to say it didn't happen, no. It just lacks credibility and again if this tread is going to be about gloom and doom why bother checking it? Secondly, I work there and I'll worry about stuff when it happens and not pretend I am Miss Cleo at this point.

I dont know where you get your numbers but I can tell you that they are wrong. Opening a new casino is always been a crap shoot. Those are the chances you take to get in at the ground floor. If your not aware of the risks then you have no right to ***** when they cut you loose. Now let these people do their jobs and prosper.

I think everyone should stop talking about lay offs and let's just work until it happens or if it happens. Its too much negativity on this thread now.....nobody knows for sure what's going to happen so ..let's be positive...if they do lay offs there's nothing we can do about it......so. imma hope for success...
