I totally agree with you. I'm internal, laid off from The Luxor. I'm trying to get into the Steakhouse as food server. They have yet to hire the restaurant managers. I passed my screening interview and was told to expect an email in mid July for a second interview. My understanding was that no decisions will be made until September and internals don't have to take a drug test.

I have been reading craigslist & seeing tht everyone said there going for drug test already..the eamil said to check watch my email closely, it also stated tht extended job offers will not be made unitl september...so I got nervous!! Im like why are they callin everyone except me..did they decide not to go w/ me? So I called city center...why I was infromed was after she got my social security number and checke my application was tht My was still active...I asked her was tht a good sign? Does thtm mean Im gonna get a offer? She said she cant say..however its a great & verified I eamil & phone # then told me...I cant say anyting but Check yur email...do u hear me...check it daily...Does tht answer yur question???!!! I smiled over the phone & told her thank u!! Im very optosmitic!
Same exact thing they told me over the phone. I think we shouldn't all just get our hopes up to much nor should we stress ourselves too much thinking if we're gonna get hired or not. Truth to the matter is, City Center is keeping a lot of people hanging until the end to cover theirs. Once they have all their desired employees, that is when they will send a denial email. In my opinion, if you don't get called for a drug test by end of July, that's as soon as you being rejected cuz if job offers were to be extended August/September, they will start preparing their desired candidates.

I thought the hiring process was horrible, like you I remember the interview with around 5o ladies and majority of them the managers knew, and me and some of the other girls felt uncomfortable being there. I did get invited back for a 3rd interview but I declined, and then about 2 months ago they call me again to see if I wanted to meet with a hiring manager (declined again). Now that I think about it, it is funny because their interviewing process was so long and wrong. Well I've been serving longer then cocktailing, but did work at a Tequila bar in cali for 7 years in which I did both. In vegas I mainly serve, but do some cocktailing when I work in the bar occasionally. So far the interviewing process for cocktails with city center has been good and their up front with you, had my HR interview in march, then I was invited to have a department interview in april. I interview with Jaime from the Bellagio, she was really nice and welcoming, made me feel at ease. She ask me a lot of customer service question, some about alcohol, and then we discuss the hiring process. Now in the process to see if I get a job offer in September. Even though some of us got calls to take drug test I hear you still are consider a candidate. Well I hope u hear something positive soon ok
Did you get the email right after the second interview at Wynn too? As soon as I got home, maybe a few hours later, I got an email from Wynn at that time to schedule for the 3rd. The person that interview me last was the woman who I believe was the cocktails head manager. Everything was going well up until she asked me to recommend a really expensive vodka. I completely blanked out. I hated myself for it because I could name a few but that was so out of the blue, you know. I have to admit, I was so bitter for a while after Encore opened because it's one of the best money making establishments out there With my City Center interview, I was asked to describe the steps in presenting wine and how I make entree recommendations on the table. It was a guy that interview me and he was really nice too. He even showed me the layout of where the restaurants are going to be. JG will be the biggest restaurants and would be at the center. I'm sure many applied there from all walks of the casino industry. The celebrity chef there is also the chef at PRIME at Bellagio so I'm sure many from Prime have put their apps in there too. Thanks for your input. I hope you get in there too. If I don't make it, I have the nursing program to keep me busy this fall. But will keep you posted

M_cordova,

Since you applied for cocktail sever also, what did they tell you when you took your drug test? I was told that we were still consider candidates and that we had to wait til August/September to see if you were even offer a position

Snazzybrit,

My status page became blank also after I took the drug test ( at first it said ACTIVE ). I call and asked why did it change to blank, and the representative told me that I was still ACTIVE. She said it could be a computer glitch, but on their end I'm still Active in the system, she also told me if it continues to appear blank w/in a week just call City Center again, and everything should back to normal on the status page. Hope this helps
