Hello folks!

We are going to Las Vegas and we were wondering how things work pertaining to kids at buffets. My son is 7 and doesn't eat much;therefore, will they insist on charging him anyway. If you tell them that he is not eating, do they give you a hard time. At those high dinner prices ($15-$25), I'd hate to pay more than necessary. Moreover, which casinos are the most reasonable with their (children/buffet) policies, and which ones are the worst?

Thanks again.

Many of the off-Strip properties (Orleans, Gold Coast, Rio, etc.) have very acceptable buffets and tend to be more family friendly. Decide on where you want to eat and call the restaurant and they'll be able to let you know what the price is.

Remember that the lunch buffets at the major Strip hotels are generally significantly less than dinner ones.

Many of the one on the strip are 9 and under are half price. under 3-4 it free. The nice ones like the Bellagio and Wynn are full price NO MATTER what.

For a kid freindly place on the strip,go to the MGM or Monte Carlo

However, are you allowed to go in if you say that your kid is not eating? Any experiences?

Thanks

Go to Sweet Tomatoes off the strip. Kids under a certain age eat free all the time.

As for the other buffets on the strip, if you bring in your kids, they will charge you whether or not they are eating. If you go in, they assume you all want to eat. I don't think they would believe you if you say your kid isn't going to eat.

One night, you must try the Wynn dinner Buffet...it's amazing...expensive, but really worth it.

About prices...it changes often...every time I visit, the prices are different (almost every time)...check their websites and simply look at the child price or give them a call. (this goes for most buffets, not just the Wynn)

Brilliant! You have shown exactly how pathetic the LV visitor has become.

Sheriff

What's pathetic? Do you even have kids? Do you want to pay $20 for a kid who won't eat at the buffet? Do you always insult people when they ask questions? Are you that insecure with yourself and looks?

Now that I think about it, there wouldn't be a Vegas without tourists like me! Huh?

To everyone else, I appreciate your advice. I'll probably just avoid buffets altogether if they are going to charge for a kid who doesn't eat much.

Thanks

Stay home. Please don't come to LV. You, and those of your economic stature are NOT welcome in LV. Stay home.

HandyJoe - those of us who actually like to vacation with our kids and aren't wealthy understand the economics of family travel. There are many buffets and restaurants that really aren't appropriate for young kids, but there are plenty of family friendly places too - especially off-strip. I'd stay away from the higher end hotels for buffets with kids if it were me, just because when I want to spend that kind of money on a meal I want to enjoy it and relax, and eating with kids isn't always relaxing if you know what I mean. We haven't lived in LV in a while, so I don't want to give bad advice on where to go, but don't worry about the cranky old folks who spew venom, there are plenty of nice, welcoming people in Vegas too.
