Meetup.com is exactly that, meeting people offline! The groups are local. You search for Las Vegas first of all. Then browse through all the groups you are interested in. Then join the groups. Then you see when the meetups are, where and what time. Then you go. Simple as that.

I agree with you and the lvdrunk's post #2. Since I moved here, I joined meetup.com and the whole thing is really lively with common interests and related activities. Just be ready to clean out your e-mail regularly if you want to hear about everything a group is doing.

Now if I can just find the time with my new job AND get out of moving debt.

Try the libraries and public park systems
Many places have free movies and music
There are lots of craft events
First Friday near Fremont in the arts district..
Look to the city and surrounding web pages.
