BTW: If you want to see hookers at work then you should go down to about Eighth and Fremont at any hour day or night. I once worked in an office at Eighth and Carson and I'd see them early in the morning as I got to work, at lunch time, and at 5:00 when I went home. I once saw one getting out of one car and getting into another as I went to lunch. When I came back an hour later she was getting out of another car and getting into still another one. Most of these hookers are so ugly and dirty looking I don't know who would want them, but one guy I saw picking one up was about 80 years old. Most of us couldn't afford the better looking ones on the strip. But most of the hookers that I've seen, even the high priced ones, weren't much to look at up close either. Maybe that's why they're hookers.

Man, that couldn't have been anymore timely! What a coincidence.

Sad news that some of them were being forced into it.... when they choose to do it that's one thing, forcing someone to be a s ex slave is another. Very sad.

I only care about safety and price.
and the quality..of course

Just got back from a week in Vegas. While playing in the Monte Carlo, I noticed several prostitutes playing the slots by the entrances to the casino by the rotunda. At my last visit 6 months ago, I was approached by one sitting right outside the men's room in New York, New York. Then a year ago, while walking through Bellagio.

There are some who are quite attractive, not what are perceived to look like hookers. Then there are some who look like crack ho's. While the practice is illegal, it is also overlooked. There are plenty of prostitute's on the strip.

The thing that gets me about these discussions is that people who don't live here have a certain image of Las Vegas, and if they see prostitutes here it just reinforces their negative image of the town. And, of course, they use it to spread THEIR negative perception. Of course, it never occurs to them that THEY come here, so if Las Vegas is a bad place then what are they doing here?

I moved here in 1964 and I have never had a prostitute try to solicit me. In New York, Chicago, LA, Detroit, and other cities, even small towns of less than 30,000 people, I have had to chase them away. Of course there are prostitutes in Las Vegas because there are prostitutes in every city in the world. They don't call it the oldest profession for nothing. No where in the world has anyone ever been able to stop it. We have had sheriffs who were able to keep it from getting out of hand though. We'll see if this new one can do it.

The original question was, "is it legal?" The answer is no.

Anybody note that they caught the Sheriff and UnderSheriff of San Mateo, CA in one of the houses they busted? Claimed he was only there for a massage.
