My question: are there Palmetto bugs or flying **** roaches or water bugs in Las Vegas? Are they a typical part of the enviornment like in Florida or other tropical or desert areas. I am looking to relocate from California. I am looking at a lot of different cities. I have a severe bug phobia specifially Palmetto bugs, flying roaches or whatever you would call them. I know it may sound weird, strange or petty but it is what it is so please don't waste your time telling me it is only a bug. I know that already. Thank you in advance for your help!!

Nope- no flying roaches, but plenty of the crawling kind if you rent in the wrong apartment complex or if you don't keep a clean house.

I had no idea roaches could fly until about five years ago. I was visiting Austin, TX and a good sized bug was flying directly towards me while I was walking around the Texas State Capitol building. I batted the thing out of the air and when it hit the ground I was surprised to see it was a roach. Not pretty.

Yes, the American roaches fly, but not a long distance more of a glide. They are reddish brown. The oriental roaches actually have partial wings, but they do not fly. Our favorite, which is the worst are Germans and they do not fly.

But let us get it all straight.

Practically all our roaches crawl. Only the ones that work for Cirque de Soleil fly...and they use harnesses.

And you don't have to live in a crummy place. They are out there in all our landscaping waiting...and they will wait almost forever. And if no spray for a month...the garage. Three months the house.

BugBully is your friend.
