I'll try to go to a game, and definitely will follow them (because I'm a football nut) but I'm not wild about the name or the colors.

Meh.

If they wanted to stick with the old train theme...they should've name the team The Las Vegas Boxcars...it doubles wit the gambling theme of craps...2 dice equalling 12 (i.e., double 6's) is commonly referrred to as boxcars.

This won't be the first semi-pro football team we've had. I can't even remember the name of the one back in the 60s that played at the old Cashman Field when it was a cow pasture with bleachers on the side of the hill about where the new Cashman Field upper parking lot is now. There were lots of rodeos there too. But we enjoyed the games even though I have never understood how you play football outdoors when there is no rain or snow, in desert heat. Back east I don't think I ever saw a football game that wasn't played in mud, and when it wasn't freezing cold, raining, or snowing. We need an indoor stadium. When we get that, a sports franchise might actually attract some fans.

That was the Las Vegas Cowboys! My uncle was involved with that team, (not a player though) back in the late 60's!!!

I know quite a few menfolk that are really excited about the Locomotives! What a dumb name though

The local guys on ESPN Radio said they had 6,500 sold tickets as of yesterday and are expecting (wishing) for a crowd of 15,000.

I think anything over 5,000 would be a good start.
