Are you kidding me? All 3 of my credit reports have addresses in which I NEVER lived. Some belong to my ex-husband --- on MY credit report. That is a lame way to conduct an investigation IMHO.

as for living in the house as a renter without paying the rent -- it is still the landlords' house. whether or not hes paying the mortgage is another thing.. you still owe the rent and the court is going to find it that way.. hope you are not liable for triple (its that way in ohio).. anyway good luck.. i'd keep paying the rent because you said there is a mgmt company involved, they are going to trash your credit further and the amount you owe will go to a collection agency later down the line..

No. I never put my name on any of his accounts, nor his mine. I have disputed them, but still the credit bureaus are just a bunch of junk science.

IMHO the lender has called the loan and the landlord has not paid it. They have foreclosed. Just because the title is still in the landlords name, the bank is calling the shots and that should not give the landlord the 'legal' right screw anyone.

IMHO, someone who enters into a contract for a renter is OBLIGATED to use the income to pay the mortgage. Just think, had all these 'investors' not acted criminal --- taking from the renter and not paying the bank, Vegas wouldn't be in the shape it is now.

Sad part is... we have these 'investors' buying the foreclosed homes now. So, look for a repeat in the years to come because few people are learning the lessons of this situation.

We have been advised repeatedly by a certain individual on this board that lenders are not delaying foreclosures in order to manage inventory levels, so clearly what you relate is impossible.[/tongue firmly in cheek]

So, if the homeowner defaults on his contract, he's committing fraud, but if you default on your contract everything is peachy keen?

Everybody wants something for nothing.

Oh, really? Do you know how to use Clark County GIS website? Look up some addresses and see when the foreclosure sale notice was posted. Then watch to see when the title was entered. They are postponing auctions, dude.

I just don't like paying thieves!

heres the way i see, you have to be months behind for a bank to help you at all.. so the day before the auction, an owner can catch up... so if the auction isn't for month's, pay your darn rent.. because if i was the landlord, whether or not im paying the mortgage, im suing you for the rent and will win the case easily... just like tony said, when the landlord isn't paying the mortgage, he's a thief,... when you aren't paying the rent, everything is peachy....

Did you notice the "tongue in cheek" tag? You do know what that means?

What specifically makes the defaulting homeowner a thief? Is it because they are receiving something (money from you) for nothing in return (not paying their mortgage)? Can you contrast that with what you're angling for; getting something (living in the home) for nothing (not paying your rent)?
